Dr. Sleigh graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and then went on to complete his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree in the first pioneer class to ever receive their degree from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. He began his first few years of practice, with his mentor Dr. Allen Tyler, a renowned naturopathic physician in the Fraser Valley. Dr. Sleigh founded the Family Health Clinic in 1983. In his general naturopathic practice Dr. Sleigh has had great success treating patients of all ages with natural therapies for acute and chronic health problems using a combination of both the new and old time-tested modalities of treatment. After more than forty years in practice he has now had the privilege of treating the grandchildren of some of his original patients. He has taken extensive additional post graduate training in areas of Wilson's Temperature syndrome, Bowen Therapy, intravenous therapies and also has prescription authority in British Columbia. Dr. Sleigh believes in treating the root cause of disease and feels essential to that is proper diagnosis using both traditional lab tests as well as specialized diagnostic testing. For over three decades he has mentored many new naturopathic physicians and is valued for his years of experience by his colleagues and patients alike. In 2014, at an international gathering of naturopathic physicians, he was honoured by his peers with "The Dr. Kenneth Harmon Award For excellence in applying the core principles of Naturopathic Medicine in family practice and outstanding dedication to the Naturopathic Profession". Dr. Kristal Rama

Naturopathic Doctor

Kristal Rama, BSc, ND (she/her)

Kristal Rama, BSc, ND (she/her)

Dr. Kristal Rama’s fascination with the science and resilience of the human body began at a very young age. Through observing her own body’s responses to exercise and injury, she was inspired to obtain her BSc in Kinesiology—the study of human movement and physiology—at Simon Fraser University.

After working in various return-to-work and rehabilitation programs, she realized that her passion is in helping individuals live dynamic and vibrant lives, free of barriers, injury, and illness. In 2019, she completed her naturopathic medical training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (Boucher Campus).

Today, her practice is built on four foundations: compassion, inclusivity, effectiveness, and sustainability. She is devoted to getting to the root of a health concern, empowering her patients with knowledge, and creating an individualized plan to help shift the body back into balance.

Dr. Kristal’s clinical interests include, but are not limited to, women’s+ health, autoimmune diseases, stress and burnout management, mental health, digestive concerns, optimizing children’s health, and developing mind-body intuition. She incorporates targeted vitamin therapies, acupuncture, cupping, herbal medicines, soft tissue work, counselling, intravenous nutrient therapy, and pharmaceutical interventions (when necessary), as integral tools.

Dr Kristal joined the Family Health Clinic in March of 2021. Having grown up in the Fraser Valley, she is honoured to be practising in the community that nurtured her. She is here to listen, to support, and to walk alongside you in your health journey. Come as you are.

Dr. James Conway

Naturopathic Doctor

James R. Conway, BSc., ND

Dr. Conway is a husband, a father, and a Naturopathic Doctor. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology at Trinity Western University. His naturopathic medical training was completed at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (Boucher Campus) where he received the Clinical Excellence Award on graduation. He and his wife have two young children. He absolutely loves to cook—frequently experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. He also has a fascination with languages. He studied Spanish for 4 years in university and continually works to improve his ability to speak Romanian (his wife’s native language).
Dr. Conway has a passion for human physiology (how the body works) and connecting with people to learn about how their personal experiences might influence their health. Naturopathic Medicine enables him to function as a “health detective” and discover root causes to symptoms and diseases. Once underlying factors are unearthed, he can then strategically use naturopathic treatments to resolve imbalances and direct people on their healing journey. He chooses evidence-based treatments and modifies them to work for each of his patients. Patient safety is his top priority! Some of the tools that he relies on are clinical
nutrition, lifestyle counseling, vitamin and nutrient therapies, homeopathy, supplementation, physical medicine, and acupuncture. He recommends intravenous (IV) therapy and uses prescription medications when required for his patients’ health
needs.
As a primary healthcare provider, he focuses on his patients’ overall health and well-being by ensuring he asks detailed questions, performs physical exams, and runs diagnostic tests when they are indicated. He may recommend more detailed testing or refer to another practitioner to optimize the care and safety of each of his patients. He provides detailed treatment plans and tries his best to clarify the reasoning for interventions. He is adamant that each of his patients is well-informed and consents to each step of their treatment. Health autonomy is foundational to his approach. He takes extra care to make sure his patients know that they are riding in the front seat when it
comes to their health; they have the right to make their own informed decisions about all interventions.
Dr. Conway addresses all health concerns as part of his primary care practice. However, he has a clinical focus in the following areas: Chronic Complex Illness; Environmental Toxicology; Cardiovascular Health; Infant & Children’s Health; Metabolic & Hormonal Health.
Dr Conway joined the Family Health Clinic in January 2024. For a full list of health conditions treated by Dr. Conway, please visit his website at: Dr James Conway

Dr. Katherine Masters

NATUROPATHIC Doctor

Katherine Masters, BSc, ND

Dr. Masters lives in Langley with her husband, four children and shikoku dog where she enjoys trying her hand at various farm-like activities – whether it’s gardening, chickens/quail/ducks, or sourdough. As you can imagine, this adds quite a bit of entertainment to her daily life and keeps her a student of nature!

Dr. Masters was trained in Naturopathic Medicine at BINM (now CCNM) after graduating with a Bachelor of Science (and business minor) from UVic in 2010. With eight years of studying life and the human body in detail, followed by the learning that comes as a practicing Naturopathic Physician (and mother!), her amazement of the intricacies of the human body and its capabilities to heal and thrive has only ever grown. She understands that there is a gap missing in our current healthcare model in which many people are not getting the care they are looking for – especially when it comes to preventative medicine and health concerns that do not require pharmaceuticals or surgery. She knows that Naturopathic Medicine is the answer to filling this gap by providing the first five steps of the therapeutic order and by being able to take in the complete health story of each case.  An old naturopathic saying goes, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”, and she holds this to be true in her practice.

Some of the health areas that Dr. Masters has a special interest for include: allergies, cardiovascular concerns, digestion issues, fertility, family medicine & kids, liver health, skin concerns, and weight concerns.

Dr Masters rejoined the Family Health Clinic in September 2025. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or head over to Dr Katherine Masters for more information!
